Book 1 Presentations 360 - Mind Mapping Starting To Prioritize Your Basic Points

by Jan Williams

INTRODUCTION

Why Presentations-360?

Have you ever found yourself standing in front of your audience, nervous, ready to present but still feeling vulnerable?  You’ve prepared a lot but something’s missing and you haven’t been able to put your finger on it.  You have lots of ideas about what you want to say- but still, something’s not quite right. The truth is that excellent presentations rely on more than just ideas and words-they rely on really good technical knowledge of how to construct a presentation.   Without a good grasp of these techniques, presentations often falter.

Presentations 360 is a guide that has been designed to provide you with the techniques and skills that will enable you to give excellent presentations.  It is a series of four books,   each book focusing on different presentation techniques. Presentations 360 is designed to take you from the very first words you speak to the very last words you speak.

What’s in Presentations 360?

Book 1, Mind Mapping, outlines how you can use a non-linear, creative approach to help you to start planning your presentation .The Linear Approach, Book 2, transfers your mind mapped presentation into a clear linear structure.  You will be able to see how each technique works for you in developing a creative, interesting and compelling presentation.  Book 3, Signposting, gives you specific phrases to help you to move smoothly through your presentation, and shows you where to use them.  In Book 4 you will ‘put the icing on the cake’ by learning how to construct an effective opening and a compelling conclusion.

Some of the questions that will be answered in these four books are:

• Why is goal important?

• How can you really connect to your audience?

• What is an effective opening?

• How does the effective opening link to the conclusion?

• What’s the difference between a recap and a summary?

• How can you make best use of pictures?

• How can you make your audience feel satisfied?
